Installing trellis, screens and climbing-plant frames - either ground-fixed (footings and posts) or fixed directly to walls and structures by drilling and anchoring. Covers design, footings where applicable, erecting posts/panels (timber, steel or wire), wall fixing, and work at height by elevating work platform (EWP) in public or occupied zones.

Objective

To install trellis so the structure is designed and braced against wind and collapse, work at height and EWP use are controlled, the public are protected, and services are not struck when footing.

When you'd use this SWMS

If trellis installation is part of your job, the builder or head contractor will usually want a SWMS for it before you start on site. This one's editable in Word. Add your company and site details, check the hazards and controls against the actual job, and get your crew to sign on before work starts.
