Risers - Working In (Firestop and Penetration Sealing)

Passive fire protection - surveying and registering penetrations, sealing them with tested mortar, batt, sealant, collar and wrap systems, fire dampers, linear joints, fire-rated board and shaft walls, tagging and certifying.

Setting up on a site or in an occupied building for firestop works - access to risers, ceilings and soffits, material storage, mixing stations, exclusion zones and marking the penetrations to be sealed.

Manual handling of mortar bags, batt cartons, fire-rated board, collars, sealant cartons, tools and access equipment across firestop and penetration sealing works.

Surveying and numbering every penetration, gap and fire-rated element, setting up the register, photographing before and after, tagging each completed seal and issuing the as-built register and certificate.

Sealing pipe, cable, tray and conduit penetrations through fire-rated walls and floors with fire-rated mortar, mineral fibre batts and sealants - preparation, mixing, placing, finishing and curing to the tested system.

Installing fire collars, cast-in collars and intumescent wraps and pillows on plastic and insulated pipes, cable bundles and ducts through fire-rated walls and floors - selection to the tested system, fixing and finishing.
