Risers - Working In (Confined Space Entry)
Electrical and services work within building risers and shafts, including cabling, equipment installation, penetrations and fire-stopping.
Objective
Complete the work safely by controlling falls down the vertical shaft, dropped objects striking workers below, restricted access and live services through maintained edge protection and covers, fall arrest where covers are removed, exclusion zones below the work and isolation of riser services.
This is the Confined Space Entry version. The hazards and controls are written around confined space entry work, so it differs from the other 4 trade versions of Risers - Working In. Compare all 5.
Built by WHS professionals, written for your state
Every document is built by WHS professionals. Each state version references the Act, regulator, and requirements for the state you select. Victoria gets the OHS Act and WorkSafe Victoria, NSW gets the WHS Act and SafeWork NSW.

When you'd use this SWMS
If risers - working in (confined space entry) is part of your job, the builder or head contractor will usually want a SWMS for it before you start on site. This one's editable in Word. Add your company and site details, check the hazards and controls against the actual job, and get your crew to sign on before work starts.
Doing the whole trade? The Confined Space Entry pack bundles this with the rest and works out cheaper. New to it? Here's what goes in a SWMS.
